Hidden Gems for Filming in Cache Valley

There’s something magical about Cache Valley — the light, the textures, the mix of mountain views and small-town charm. Every direction offers a new mood to capture on camera, whether you’re filming for a brand story, a restaurant video, or a creative project.
As a videographer based in Logan, Utah, I’ve spent years scouting the most beautiful and under-the-radar places for photo and video shoots. These aren’t the tourist-heavy locations — they’re quiet, cinematic corners of Cache Valley that make your visuals feel grounded, unique, and full of character.
Here are a few of my favorite hidden gems to film in Northern Utah.
1. Mendon’s Rolling Hills
Just west of Logan, Mendon offers wide-open fields, dirt roads, and soft golden light in the evenings. It’s one of the best places in Cache Valley for that cinematic, timeless feel.
In early summer, the grass glows green and full — by late August, it fades into soft golds that look straight out of a film. This location is perfect for lifestyle shoots, brand storytelling videos, or any creative project that calls for an organic, natural look.
2. The Old Logan Train Bridge
A bit tucked away but incredibly photogenic, the old train bridge crossing the Logan River adds industrial character without feeling urban. The combination of metal structure, river movement, and surrounding trees makes it ideal for moody, contrast-filled visuals.
It’s great for brands that want something modern, bold, and a little bit gritty — especially when paired with voiceover or movement-heavy Reels.
3. Amalga Fields and Gravel Roads
Amalga is one of those areas most people drive past without realizing how beautiful it really is. Its winding backroads, open farmland, and long stretches of sunset sky are perfect for storytelling.
For product films, romantic brand shoots, or even behind-the-scenes content, it offers minimal distractions and maximum natural light. It’s one of my favorite spots for drone footage — clean lines, open horizons, and the kind of quiet that makes your story feel big.
4. Logan River Trail
This trail is a local favorite for good reason. It winds through trees, footbridges, and shaded riversides that change with the seasons — bright green in spring, golden in fall, and moody in winter.
It’s perfect for lifestyle brands, makers, or restaurants who want content that feels approachable, natural, and local. It also provides great ambient sound for video storytelling — rustling leaves, flowing water, and soft wind through the trees.
5. Providence Canyon
For brands that want an adventurous edge, Providence Canyon delivers. Its rocky cliffs, red tones, and layered hills feel cinematic — almost like a mini southern Utah scene tucked into Cache Valley.
This spot works beautifully for bold brand shoots, outdoor product videos, and creative portraits. If your business has an adventurous or handcrafted spirit, this is your place.
6. Downtown Logan Side Streets
Most people think of Main Street when they picture downtown Logan, but the side streets are where the visual magic happens. Exposed brick, painted murals, coffee shops, and textured walls create an urban-but-local look that fits restaurant, lifestyle, and product shoots perfectly.
If your brand leans creative, modern, or community-focused, this is a spot that never gets old — and every alleyway tells a different story.
